21st to 23rd October 2011 Foxford Walking Festival
Taking place from the 21st to the 23rd of October 2011, the Foxford Ramblers Walking Club welcomes all walkers and outdoor enthusiasts to join them for the first annual Foxford Walking Festival, in the beautiful West of Ireland! With a range of walks planned to suit many levels of fitness and varities of interests, it is a chance to experience the beautiful scenery of the area and meet fellow walkers from throughout Ireland and beyond. The Festival celebrates the re-opening and re-marking of the Foxford Way and the new local loop walks.
There will be three walks on Saturday and three on Sunday. The walks will be graded as Hard, Moderate or Easy and there will be one walk in each category each day. The Hard walks will be in excess of 15 kilometres. The Moderate walks will be in excess of 10 kilometres. And the Easy walks will be of less than 10 kilometres. The Easy walk on Sunday 23rd is designated as a Family Nature Walk and will be led by Dr. Chris Huxley.
