Enniscrone is delighted to introduce their first ever seaweed festival to the village. The 4 day festival is guaranteed to be a interesting, fun filled weekend for all. There will be a variety of different activities for children to participate such as art classes.Two art workshops for children will be held oin the Ocean Sands hotel using seaweed as an art material. There will be an artist present for guidance & information. Local shops will display the art posters produced by the children whom attended the art class.
There will be an informative technical Seaweed talk by Irish Seaweed Research Group, Ryan Institute, NUI Galway. There will also be a Seaweed cookery demonstration by Dr. Prannie Rhatigan - author of "Irish Seaweed Kitchen" - the comprehensive guide to healthy, everyday cooking with seaweeds.Throughout the weekend all hotels and restaurants will feature at least one seaweed dish on their menu. There will be an extensive display of seaweed products including, seaweed sausages, hair products, cosmetics etc.
